So I read the whole thing. Then I read it again, because it deserves to be read again, multiple times. And I gotta ask: is the film that John was offered the same one Sherlock wasn't really interested in at the start of the fic?

In my head, no. But so many people seem to love that idea that I might reconsider. The problem is that the project Sherlock didn't want doesn't really contain a good role for John.

yes, the Shadow Unit series (you can google it). It's a real series of online novels, but as far as I know, there are no film plans for it.
