supernatural 4x03
"...will you promise me that you'll remember? On November 2nd, 1983, don't get out of bed. No matter what you hear, or what you see, promise me you won't get out of bed."
this episode is so perfectly heartbreaking that it will only be trivialized by my thoughts on castiel's magical disappearing acts and annoyingly-cryptic half answers, bad!thought dean, and epic time-traveling.
so i will say only that it hurts, this episode does. it hurts my heart. because this is the Sad Secret Life of Mama Winchester, who never wanted her children to know the life she knew. and this is dean, forced to watch his best efforts amount to nothing because it was all just some angel produced learning experiment.
the sadness kicks me in the chest. every time.
"Destiny can't be changed, Dean. All roads lead to the same destination."
