~ I'm not going to get into the politics and my personal beliefs involving homosexuality. I just want to point out the fact that we as Americans are so conservative and culturally behind when it comes to this topic. Look back to ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, they celebrated homosexuality. To them it was cosidered perfectly normal. Just ( Read more... )

My roommate is a lesbian...we get along awesome. Homphobia is wrong but I dont think it is wrong to have an opinion on what you think is right. Nobody deserves to be shunned or whatever because of their sexual preference. I love her just the way she is.

Yes but unfortunantly people's opinions on what they feel is right often translates to violence or harms in some other way. Momma always said if you have nothing nice to say... don't say it at all. I have many opinions myself... alot also having to do with religion and what I have seen about it's very contradicting nature. But I don't go to them and spit out "Hey.. you're a fucking hypocrite, dumbass. Just.. die and make the world a better place".

To me when people are getting discriminated or beaten up.. or killed because they are different, people whose opinions contribute to that just need to shut their trap. Problem is alot of nuts out there believe they can destroy homosexuality.. when in fact it's another part of nature.. something they don't want to accept at all.

This is all true. But what about the homosexual people in the world who carry a grudge on their shoulder because they feel the world is out to get them? Or that go out of their way to point out that they are homosexual? I don't walk through life proclaiming, "HEY I AM STRAIGHT!" And sometimes I feel that homosexuals want me and everyone to know that they are gay. Obviously, I understand that it is a little more uncommon for someone to be gay but if they dont want people to discriminate against them, maybe they should stop proclaiming their homosexuality. Eventually it will become a more natural thing. And we can all go about our daily lives.

Hmm. That's all fine and dandy I suppose; but tell me the last time someone was beaten up for being straight. Or fired for being straight. See what I mean? Telling someone basically that if they don't wanna be discriminated against then stop saying they're gay is really just as bad as hushing gay people up and stuffing them back into the closet. Now I don't go around touting that i'm gay but I sure as hell don't hide it. Obviously gay people in some aspects are different then the straights... gay people who are... outspoken... will obviously make themselves heard. Kinda typical of what minorities do :) Funny thing is is that homosexuality has practically been around since the dawn of mankind... if it were to become a more natural thing by having people stop proclaiming their homosexuality.. which they did oh so carefully back in those days when you'd be executed for it.. obviously shutting up the gays didn't really make it a more natural thing ( ... )
