Cat Toys, Penguins, and Turtles!
Oh man, I am so super excited about crocheting right now. Now that I've figured out amigurumi I don't want to do anything else. Which is fine because there are a literal ton of stuff to crochet with amigurumi.
Penguin
Val asked me to crochet her a penguin. So I did! Here it is!
Yeah, it turned out pretty okay, but I didn't really like making it. I just sort of winged it, but I think if I followed a pattern it would look better. Also I figured out the difference between using the top and bottom loop while crocheting. Top = bad stringy texture, Bottom = smooth scale-like texture. This is important to know.
Turtle
I saw a picture of a crocheted turtle, so I made one for myself :D
Whoo! He looks like a turtle and everything. Neat.
Cat Toys
Val suggested that I make cat toys for her two cats. So I did! I designed each one with the cat in mind. They are all stuffed with fluff and catnip, but not enough to get them crazy. It's just enough cat nip to make the toys smell appealing. The green one was made for Osiris and the white one was made for Isis. If you look close, Isis's toy has an ankh on it, the symbol of the goddess Isis. I also made an orange one for Tango. Both Osiris and Isis loved their toys but Isis decided to dominate them all. She's that sort of kitty.
I also decided to take some videos of Isis playing with the toys. I'm sorry the lighting is bad in these videos, but there's only one lamp here in the room. While it's fine for anything else, it's not great for taking video.

Also,evilhippo and I will be conducting a Cute-Off contest around the middle of August. We have taken it upon ourselves to make a personified bacteria or virus of our choosing and will compete against each other to see who can create the cuter creation. Stay tuned!
