well, I worked for AEON for a year and a half, so don't be too harsh ;) The difference between JET and other ways to work in Japan is basically this: with JET, you're likelier to be in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, but you get paid well. With eikaiwa/ALT, you get paid less but have good chances for landing in a city. Personally I have too many health issues to be able to live in the country, so there was no question which I would choose. Anyway I suppose you get a better "true Japanese experience" with JET, what with being in a place where you might be the only foreigner around, or with very few others; but then again, I really love Japanese nightlife and subculture so I guess going to lives and Lolita parties and whatnot would have outweighed trips to hot springs anyway ^^; (Not that I never went to a hot spring... and refused to get naked in front of anyone xD)
