Please go to a salon. you will end up with not so pretty orange rusty colored hair and probably a lot of breakage especially where your highlights are already in there. i know its expensive, but 100 really isnt a lot when you think about what youre having done. think about it this way. your stylist only sees half of that. so shes making $50, then she most likely has to pay for the bleach and toner and whatever products she uses on you... so shes looking at about $10 to $15 at least in cost. so shes really only making about $35 or $40... It seems like a lot of money up front but it will be worth it in the end... if you mess it up and it turns a nasty color and you have a lot of breakage you will be paying a LOT more to have a color correction done. and you will probably have to get a pretty hefty haircut.
either way good luck sugar plum.

no no no absolutely do NOT put permanent color on after you bleach. that right there tells me that DIY hair endeavors are definitely not your thing

go see a colorist, brotha

There's no quick fix to get to blonde. You'll fry your hair.

I don't have any DIY tips or anything, but a cheaper solution to the $100 salon trips could be to go and get them done at cosmo schools. My friend goes to one and offers all of her friends to go in on half price days, and offered me a coloring for only $10 bucks.

Aside from that, the only advice that I can give you is to be patient with anything you do, bleaching, slapping on dyes, just be patient =)
