Oh my goodness I haven't posted here in years!

I've decided to go to the salon to color my platinum blonde hair back to brown. I just didn't want to risk my hair turning green/orange/pink/etc etc. You get the idea.

However, I'm willing to risk my hair extensions since I have an old set that I didn't throw away yet. So I was wondering, what filler and ( Read more... )

I turned my silver bleached hair to a reddish chestnutty brown like that by using a level 6 (I think) semi-permanent auburn for 15 min or so and then another level 6(I think? Sorry, I'm not at home so I can't go check my shelf) auburn red. I had that for a bit and then got a haircut & put a chestnut brown over top & it ended up very much like your photo.

I used all semi permanent, so it faded pretty quickly, but if you did the brown in a permanent it'd probably hold better. Heavily bleached hair will generally fade quicker though.

The last picture is almost exactly what I want! It's gorgeous. What brand of hair color did you use?

Since I'll be using it on my extensions I'm not too picky about whether or not I use a permanent or semi permanent as long as I can get that color. I don't wash my extensions too much anyways. Thanks for the response!

I used Ions 4RV (red-violet) which was beautiful purple burgandy color on the swatch. But it was more red then anything. It made my roots pretty bright red. So I wouldn't reccomend it for "purple" colors. i would actually just do a medium brown and then a pravana purple.
