Store bought color recommendations? :)

so. I posted a few days ago about going from dark brown to a shade of red. I decided that due to lack of funds I will be doing this at home. Sooo any recommendationsfor box colors that would get a brighter dark auburn color similar-ish to this one? Heres a picture of me too :)

I've had luck with L'oreal HiColor color. It's wonderful for dark hair because it lifts 2-3 shades without bleach. I've tried the different shades of red and I've liked them all.

That's the only downside. They do fade, but I seem to have that luck with any brand of red shades I've tried. This brand doesn't fry my hair as much as other brands, though. I have really dark brown/black hair and this is the only brand that actually lifts my hair to red/auburn shades and not some dark purpley-brown.

Aww thanks :) Yeah that picture makes my hair look a lot nicer then it actually is. I wish I could get it to look that wavy-ish on a regular basis. My hair is also I tad bit more brown looking with warmer tones because my webcam made it look more black and purple-ish.
I was looking at that brand of color, but they dont have many options for colors and they look like they turn out super bright. Do they really turn out that bright?

If you use the HiColor highlights, they will definitely be bright. I used magenta and WHOA. I had pink hair, which was fun, but not what I wanted permanently. I now use HiColor Deep Auburn Brown with only 20 vol developer instead of 30 Vol since my hair is already lightened from dying so much. I've gotten compliments on the shade. It's a nice, rich dark auburn. It does fade, but that's my experience with all reds. :/

You could try one of the darker reds with either 10 or 20 vol so it doesn't lighten as much.

my advice as a cosmetologist, either go to a beauty school and have them do it (so cheap) or purchase the color at sallys. box dyes that you purchase in the store have metallic salts that dry the FUCk out of your hair. and also, don't hold reds well.
