This morning was unremarkable in most respects until I stepped out of my front door to see fog. Summer Hill wreathed in fog is lovely beyond speaking, the way it dims the edges of things and turns the mundane into a fairyland of the imagination ( Read more... )

Yep, fog is lovely. It meant that every flight out of and into Sydney ALL DAY was delayed, from between 20 minutes to like 2 hours. I think the whole east coast was fucked up by it :(

Flew to Melbourne and back today. Playing on Sunday Arts with Mr Michael Veitch. Should be Reptilia live on the show in about three Sundays, and NTTF live with interview somewhat later. Will notify the mailing list.

My favourite memory of fog. School athletics carnival in yr something-or-other, so I had the day off school (fight the power!). About 11 am and the fog was still so dense up on my mountain that I could only see for about 10m or so, and eerily, through the fog, I could hear my sports carnival being announced from the sports grounds in the valley below. About 4km North and maybe 600m Down(?). Anyway, for those in the know, I was in Kariong and the carnival was in Adcock pk.
