At times like this I miss the good old days of doctoring. When I was a kid my mom could call the doctor and say, "Jeff's getting measles" or "Kim's got tonsilitis" and he would give her a prescription, or have us stop by for a shot...back then penicillin only came in shots.

But when I think of my sweet, sweet, gentle giant hubby, I have to be grateful for today's medicine too, for without it he would not be here.

Still...while the advances are great, the people aspect of it has totally gone out the window. It's an outrage, the amount of activity we have to do ourselves these days. Like when the whole family had to learn to use the IV pump for dad, so we could give him the IV antibiotics that cost over $400 a dose! If I wanted to be a nurse....Geeeeeez!

Hang in there...and don't take everything they say as gospel. If you disagree, push back or get second opinions!
