Military Life For Me

Rob seems to be out options in Cinti and doesn't want to work anyway. I was supposed to get a raise from Beckfield last August and one this month. I never got my 6 month raise and I just spoke to my boss about the yearly raise. He was supposed to set me up to change me to "midcareer" giving me $5000.00 extra for this year....he didn't and the ( Read more... )

My suggestions:

There are too many labs and such for either of you to be out of options in Cinti. Just be patient and keep trying. (Thought you guys got a raise from him being laid off????) Having one person work two jobs while the other works none seems very wrong to me.

I'd go back to your boss and have a stark conversation wit him...tell him to give what he promised or you're looking elsewhere. Then he'll probably at least go higher than 3%.

Remember: Military = time away from kids. There is no job or amount of money worth that. Every minute you lose is one you can't get back, and if you blink they'll hit their 30's!

Remember you always have family. I'm sure if you're struggling, your parents, Michelle and us can try to pull together and help somehow.

Stay strong. Take a deep breath. You've been thru much worse...many times.

You're a survivor.

HERE HERE!!! I agree wholeheartedly on every aspect of that, especially the 'one person working two jobs while the other works not at all' and military = time away perspectives. Rob's unemployment won't last forever anyway, it's not like his will to stay home is plausible. Perhaps he should look outside of labs?

Let us know if you need anything, I'm sure we can figure something out.

Take a deep breath (or drink, pick your pleasure) and try to stay calm...

Sorry the situation is as bad as it is. If it's not too forward or rude of me, why does he have such a hard time keeping a job? And if he's out of lab options, there ARE other industries to work in.
