Lonely

I'm very lonely out here. I'm used to talking to friends and family every day. Everyone here is friendly, but not a friend. They all keep their distance. And yesterday I made a suggestion during a talk on wastewater that someone else was giving...I offered to do a training session on spills, and everyone quietly went (yeah, sure) and never ( Read more... )

I hope you're just having a bad day, this doesn't sound like you. We both have family members who do not have high educations. I'd hate to think you look down your nose at them for that. People are people, and everyone has feelings and value, regardless of their education. Sometimes you just have to look at little harder to find that value, but it's usually worth it.

Friends are made over time, and you haven't been there very long. If I felt people didn't want me around I would pull out all the stops of my personality, and make the day so much fun they couldn't wait to see me again. Everyone works hard, whether it's crap jobs or highly-educated jobs, and most people will always welcome a laugh break. Laughter is good medicine. Get silly with them. It will lift your spirits as well.

About the house...take a project at a time and make it the house it can be...or go find another one...but it would be a crime to lose that yard, and the location is good too.

Hope you feel better about it all real soon!

You don't have to have a special set of letters behind your name to be worth speaking to. But it'd sure help this worthless group ( ... )

Wow! I don't know what to say to that. There's not much you can do about your neighbors, and I'm in the wrong spot in your life to advise you about Rob, except to say as gorgeous as you are, put on a thong, get between him and the computer and see what happens! LOL!

Looks like work will be your best source for making friends. Here's hoping!

If you're that unhappy with the house, make a 3 or 5-year plan to get a different one. I know it isn't easy, but can be done if you're determined and careful.

I hope it all gets better real soon. I'm sorry you're going thru this.

That neighbor #1 sounds psycho!

Well, by the sounds of it, you're absolutely miserable, and that's just outright unacceptable. If it would help or give you a boost, I'd be more than happy to fly out there once I've earned enough vacation time. I'd love to help you with projects, help around the house or just generally be goofy and be THERE, most importantly.

Not much, but it's there and I MEAN IT ALL!!! ; )

Tons of love!
