I've actually NEVER watched it before, but this was entertaining. Though it seems hard to believe that these two were the *very best* out of all those thousands of people who tried out originally ( Read more... )

Mmmmmm! Burberry!

I'm trying to find a good, cute summer bag that doesn't cost $40, incorporates a shade of blue, will hold all my stuff, and closes enough that everything won't fall on the floor if it lands on its side in the car or something. And even if it has short straps, it needs to be big enough to go over the shoulder. Do I have any other specifications? I'm not picky!

Well, I think you'd totally love the Bermuda Blue pattern from Vera Bradley (probably the
However, those are a little bit over $40 - though you can definitely get them way cheaper than list price on ebay.

If you want super dirt cheap, though, I'd definitely recommend a tote (zip-top) from L.L. Bean. CLASSIC. There are now several different color combinations, and you can get it monogrammed - how cute. :)

the original - small or medium (depending on whether you want a "purse" or a bookbag size), with long handles, in Blue Iris or Turquoise

striped - medium size, in Clear Blue

Or just create your own color combination!

All of these are under $30 and really good quality (my parents have had various of these for YEARS and they're indestructible - just throw them in the washing machine). I think they would be great for what you're looking for - and both "grown up" and cute/fun at the same time!

Not a bad idea, especially if I strike out today at the pre-Memorial-Day-Weekend Sales!!

So if this conducting thing doesn't work out, you can always go into personal shopping!

haha. Bean is the largest non-governmental employer in Maine. going to the big factory store in Freeport at, like, 2 a.m. is a college-student tradition (they're open 24/7). and their bags are indestructible.

but the burberry is something of an investment, so i say go for it. (a caveat: i'm a bagaholic, with my two most prized being the gucci-by-tom-ford i got in italy and my new chanel pochet, which was an engagement gift from my mom. so i'm not the most reliable source for fiscally responsible bag acquisition. :))
