Kittens

As those of you who've seen my facebook will know, there are five gorgeous little kittens and their mother spending a lot of time in our backyard at the moment. Not surprised you're distressed but you have no choice. Sitting on your hands and deploring isn't an option. Done this myself but you still feel like crap. Am personally restraining myself from offering my place as an adoption centre: 3 kitties really is enough actually.

Good luck *hug*

Thank you. *hugs back*

The kittens were playing this morning when I went out, and scattered to hide under the tree. There was no sign of the mother cat, but she reappeared over the back fence when I called. I'd brought out some biscuits for her, but although she's very thin she seemed more interested in being stroked and then feeding her kittens, before coming over to eat the food. The kittens are gradually coming closer to me, but still not close enough to touch. I don't know how I'm going to catch them - I suspect they're young enough that the only food that interests them is their mother's milk.

The council ranger isn't coming till Saturday, which is a good thing because it gives me a few days to coax them closer, but also more time to worry, especially since the little black one didn't make an appearance this morning. He could have just been hiding in the garden - he's the shyest of the five - but I hope he's okay.
