Today was great for many reasons, but disappointing at the same time. I did some more XMas baking and now have 3 different batches of cookies done, plus a batch of snack mix. All I need is to do my gingerbread men and I'm done. Shopping has been done for a while (didn't buy much this year) except Sky's stocking stuffers and some slippers he saw ( Read more... )

sometimes you just need to cry, it doesn't matter if the topic can be deemed not important, b/c it's important to you. i'm a big fan of therapeutic crying.
a lot of people seem PISSED about the alumni game tickets. i'm guessing you weren't the only one who cried. they really need to find a way to keep scalpers from buying so many tickets. those ticketmaster fees keep getting more and more obnoxious. the Pens ticket exchange thing annoys me to no end. the NHL teams up with goddamn ticketmaster to endorse scalping.
it says in the paper today that the alumni game won't be on tv, which pisses me off. though apparently the NHL Network will show a one hour version of it on 1/5. i don't see why they can't let FSN and whatever the Caps home station is pick it up.

A LOT of people were pissed off: Pensblog commenters at first, then it actually made the evening news (KDKA), which surprised me. At least I'm not alone, but it still sucks. Even if I HAD $800 - $1500 to get tickets from eBay, I wouldn't: it's feeding the beast. I saw Paul-fucking-McCartney (a legend, a BEATLE) for about $98: that's fairly reasonable for a big-time performer. And his website had a presale, so REAL FANS got first crack at the tickets: that's fair. What happened w/ this Alumni game is neither reasonable nor fair...it's ridiculous ( ... )

yeah, even if i had cash i refuse to buy the ridiculously marked up prices. it's the principle of the matter. people need to stop being greedy and let fans by the damn things.
and i completely agree with Mario being the greatest player ever. i used to argue with people about it. but yeah NHL is mishandling this whole thing.
