Watched my four ep disc of Lois & Clark, season 2. Damn that show was so much better than Smallville, and I just had to work a Teri Hatcher ref into the RR

Thanks. I was limping all day, but it's better now.
Lois & Clark was so much better. They really captured the relationship, and you could tell John Shea was enjoying the hell out of playing Lex. So gleefully malicious!
I still can't find the dumb thing, but it's probably time for a new one anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion this is another case of Dad taking something from where we've always kept it and 'putting it away'.
I kind of vaguely suspect I would like Smallville (I don't mind canonsmushes, and I've read some fantastic slash about that version of Lex) if the lead actor could actually act. As it is, it's like watching a show about a highly polished piece of wood, and not even the exciting kind!
It's a little cheezy but it embraces the cheeze in that 'we're making a Superman tv show, and we're stuffing Dean Cain into the tights, but by god, we're going to keep a straight face and deliver our lines earnestly' way.
Dean Cain is a serviceable Superman/Clark, and he does have chemistry with Teri Hatcher's Lois. There's a lot of banter and UST in their relationship before they fall in love.
John Shea is just having a ball playing Lex as a Charming Bastard.
A lot of great hey it's that guy actors. A lot of my favorites. Tracey Scoggins as Cat Grant, Lane Smith as Perry White. Everybody from Bruce Campbell to Robert Culp as guests.

I started digging around Youtube since it looks like I won't be able to get more dvds from the library. Looks like this guy has the whole pilot movie.
