Heh heh heh. I was thinking of her when I saw it! (I'm still single-chain-crochet plowing my way through the rubbermaid storage box of acrylic. Actually working on two scrap afghans now, because I've got yarn in two different weights. Possibly three or four, but I'm just randomly grabbing whatevers on top.)

I really should learn more than the one stitch...as I've said before, the problem with my mother being a Maker is she didn't really know how to teach me anything, since she could just *do* it...and she'd get impatient with me trying to learn myself, take the project away from me, and finish it up.

I tried to donate yarn to the local elementary school, they wanted full skeins and brighter colors, but they took most of the white.

$55 is actually a good price on something like Helen's Lace -- 8oz of silk/wool lace yarn, 1250 yds.

So the fact that Greg Dean thinks he's exaggerating makes the comic funnier.
