Ok, here's the deal. Cole's cat got out last night when we got home. Cole couldn't catch him, and didn't tell me until the next morning that he had gotten out. We are now at over 24 hours and the cat is still missing. If this cat doesn't show up soon it's going to be a major crisis for my family. Keep us in your thoughts. Thank you.

If it's at all possible (considering weather and the safety of the neighborhood), leave a window fully open. The cat may come back in on their own.
Put an dirty shirt or something like that outside, to increase the 'home' smell in the area.
Putting out cat food also helps. The cat may be sticking near the house, but hunger will make it roam.
I assume you're also going out walking and calling. Also try just sitting outside. Sometimes the cats get freaked out and want to come home, but they're too scared and need someone to approach.
If you go more than 48 hours without the cat returning, start to put up fliers. Call the local shelters and the vets.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
