el autobus

My primary form of transporation in DC is the Metrobus. Friends here often ask me for bus advice because for awhile, I swore by the little schedules they printed and I was forever mapping my bus route on their handy trip planner site. Oh, man the people who sit in the aisle seat and don't move over drive me crazy. They do it on Metrorail too. I always move over when I see the train start to crowd. On the plus side, people on the bus are way more willing to offer me a seat and the men almost always let the women on first, which is nice.
I also love when people seem surprised that I take the bus when I could take the train, when the bus is cheaper and often times more direct. Why transfer if I don't have to? Also, sometimes the bus is less crowded. So why pay more money for a more crowded trip with a transfer?

I miss DC. But I definately do not miss the bus system. I loved the metrorail though!
