OH NO.

I am so sorry to hear this. I didn't even know your son-in-law, but I've met your stepdaughter, and this is such horrible news.

Let me know if there's anything you need. My thoughts and prayers go our to you and yours.

I am so very sorry for your loss, and the loss of that potential relationship. My MIL's husband and my SIL's husband are both in the sandbox right now, also, and if something happened to them, I'd say just the same things, but with a caveat I'll share with you: it isn't like you have been sitting around on your duff. You have been living your life FULLY, it just didn't happen to include very much of this dear man. You are there now, though, doing just what he'd want you to be doing; taking care of your mutual family.

Best wishes to you all, and my condolences on your loss.

This was always a huge concern for me while my brother-in-law was in Afghanistan on his tour.

You have my sympathy, and some measure of understanding. I hope you find it to be of some comfort. My condolences to your stepdaughter and grandchild.
