So, I didn't get the grant. Long story short- I applied for a department of agriculture grant, and I didn't get it. I will get my scores, work on where the scores were too low, and apply for the grant again next year... but I'm remarkably disappointed. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to get the grant but so many people told me that application was

I imagine you're probably in the same place as a lot of grant-appliers, in that many of them probably have to go through a couple of rounds of applications before they get approval.

I think you're doing amazing things, and so go and do that thing you said you were going to do, because it sounds right. (And I feel for you on the whole disappointment thing; you try not to get your hopes up, but it always happens, and then you feel crappy for a while, and I don't know how to get over that.)
