Numb3rs fic

I know everyone's all sad about Numb3rs ending, but for all that I like the Brothers Eppes, I can't stand the storylines, Nikki, or Amita. My greatest disappointment was when Amita lived through the MMORPG episode. Therefore, I may not even finish this story, and just let it peter out. Be aware that I have a Charlie/Ian story in the pipeline, so if you like my writing, but they are more your cup of tea, chack back in a week or two.

Chapter 9

Colby had just gotten back to work after a meeting with his handler. There was a list out there being compiled by an old OSS guy. He was going to be on it, to further the story, as Ashby was a friend of Kirkland’s dad. The list was supposed to be released in under a week, so he’d just let the rent lapse, only telling the landlord he’s moving out when he calls to complain. The apartment had been furnished, so he only had his clothes and a few boxes to move. Not enough to raise suspicion.

After a bunch of boring meetings about policies that everyone should have known about already, he finally got a chance to call Charlie.

“Col?”

“Charlie, the answer is finally yes.”

“Really? I’ll see you tonight! I’d love to talk more, but I have a meeting with on of the assistant deans for an unknown reason. Love you.”

Blushing, Colby replies, “Love you too. See you in a couple hours, hopefully.”

After he hung up, David and Megan razzed him a bit, then the paperwork stupor set in. Don freed them from their desks a little early, as in 5:15 instead of 7, as it had been a long day.

Before heading to the Craftsman, Colby stopped by his apartment, grabbing the suitcase and 4 boxes out of his locked closet. Packing his clothes, he carried all the stuff to his car, easily fitting it all in back seat of his car. Driving the two miles to Charlie’s, he was humming the whole time.
