Part 12 of my CSI:NY fic

Yay! I'm back.

"Donny, you remember Grandma Keenan’s apartment in Gramercy Park? What we didn't tell you when she died is that you were to get it for a college graduation present. We'll sign all the papers on your last day of school. We had renters in it for the last couple years, so you can't move in until the first of June."

"Really, Ma? But what about the transfer fees and property taxes? I don't think I'll have the money while I'm at the academy."

"There's an account attached with enough to take care of most of that for a few years, so other than utilities and repairs, you don't have to worry," adding with a smile, "and it’s a two bedroom place."

Danny and Don were sitting on their bench between classes, and Danny was getting tired of Don fidgeting.

"What's wrong, Don?"

"Would you...wanna move in with me the first of June? I got a co-op apartment in my Grandma's will, it’s supposed to be a graduation present. We'd split the bills, there's an account attached that takes care of most of the taxes...it's gotta be cheaper than the dorm. And I...I want you there."

Danny did a bit of figuring; realizing that with typical utility bills, sharing with Don would be lots less than room and board, meaning he could take summer session classes without going bankrupt. And they would finally share quarters. They'd been waiting to have sex until they could stay cuddled afterwards without interruption, as Danny's roommates had no sense of privacy.

Pouncing on his boyfriend, Danny gave him a huge hug, whispering, "Just you wait, we won't be able to walk for days after we move in."

They wanted to celebrate, but it they both had classes and it was the middle of campus.

"Donald Keenan Flack..." Don blew a kiss to Danny as he walked across the stage at the Social Work and Law Commencement, not noticing until after he received his diploma, that his father wasn't there, though Ma was snapping photos like crazy from the seat next to Danny.
