Writing is my most productively unproductive activity

I sat down about an hour ago to do some writing for my writing class and found that I can't seem to make any progress on anything I actually want to use for class, but instead have spent my time writing a lot of other stuff that's not in teh category fo short fiction. This has been the theme of such activities for the past two weeks. It's

at least you're writing dude. if you need to write some fiction, maybe you should send me your nonfiction bug. my songwriting hasn't involved any songs nor any songwriting in over two months.
