I've been conspicuous in absence the past couple weeks, between working on things on the Ranch and working at Hospital. we have acquired a mini flock (5 individuals) of "Dirty Yard Birds" a couple of weeks ago, and now I understand very well why you call them that.
My two dogs get very excited when they realise that I am heading for the Chook Mahal, but they are not allowed beyond the gate since the area around the coop is designated as Herself's vegetable garden.
Ideally my lovely lady would like to live on a property with enough room for small herd of goats, a larger flock of chickens and some ducks. I'm a tad resistant to the idea because of the time required to do all the looking after of said animals, which inevitably seems to fall to me.
Meantime our five lovely ladies (Gladys, Enid, Edith, Joyce and Priscilla) are laying more eggs than we can cope with. Heavens only know what would happen if we had more. :-)
