They definitely look like seashells to me, but I've a hunch they aren't. I look forward to finding out what they are, because one of my favorite things about nature is how it re-uses the same shapes and structures over and over again.
(Needless to say, I'll be crushed if whatever they are is purely manmade.)
The initial image of the first certainly looks snail-like, but the narrower bottom has kind of a bent fluke when is not snailish. And both have a socket at the larger end. Plus I don't think the cavities inside on the second one connect in a spiral like a shell would. And the cross section on the first one leads me to believe that they are not actually empty--a bit of fuzz seems to be filling some of the cavity.
However, since I don't think your scanner has the resolution to do diatomaceous earth, and since the second image has a perforation on it I am going to say a necklace bead.
(Because, after all that analysis, I still have no idea.)
