I hate how the media has been labeling anyone who speaks up about how poorly our government has been doing in the whole Katrina disaster and whateve' else protesters... Most people aren't even protesting anything just doing what needs to get done no matter what it takes, like our government is supposed to be doing. Yesterday early morn' on the way to my sis' I was listening to a guy (some sort o' emergency med tech) talk about how he and a buddy o' his rented a truck to get to what was left of his house and pick up a few things. It's already hell trying to get into any of the areas that were hit by the storm and on their way there, they got stopped by gov officials. After waiting some time looking at all the vehicles and security, they were asked to go even farther out of their way and avoid the area that was blocked. When they arrived at the house, the guy was told by his neighbors that Dick Cheney was visiting down the road. He ended up even more frustrated and upset but calmly asked an officer if he was allowed to go over to ( ... )
