I know that it will break your heart .. the way things are .. and the way they've been

Okay. The Vice-Presidential debate, since you're all so eagerly awaiting. Forgive me if this isn't quite as concise as before. Jason and I had a bottle of wine and a couple beers during the duration of this thing. And we made out some ... okay ( Read more... )

I haven't been able to watch either debate because of my schedule (though I saw a little of the closed-caption version of last night's while at the Mellow Mushroom in Athens). Anyway, good analysis -- and fair, which isn't always a given, and probably harder, since I know your basic bias.

My favorite line, however, has to be "I've been the smooth, smart Southern boy, and I know what I'm like."

Keep 'em coming.

I reread this this morning and laughed at myself. I'd had, um, a litte bit to drink. But, it's all good.

Good to hear from you Tom.

Once again a terrific job of analysis my left-leaning friend! :-) You make some salient points on both sides, although I would give Cheyney a slight nod in this one. Sadly, the polls would indicate that the debates really don't seem to have too much impact on an election...and if you want my opinion...I think a 60 minute format would be more palitable than 90 minutes. To me they tend to drag on and on after the one hour mark. I wonder hoe many folks were switching back and forth between the debate and the AL Division Series between the Yankees and Twins? Fasten your seat belts...Friday should be interesting...at least for those of us who are interested ;-)

I agree with you about the debate - but in all reality it doesn't matter very much. The ratings for this one were miniscule compared to the biggie. Fortunately Kerry won the one that actually mattered, eh? I am curious to see how the polls change (if at all)...and I check them with masturbatory precision at http://www.electoral-vote.com/ I go there way too often. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Anyway, nice recap of the debate.

I check electionprojection.com like ... compulsively. It's like sometimes I wake up in the morning and go to the site and then wake up and go "what the fuck?". or something. anyway, yay. thanks mate.

My only problem with electionprojection.com is that the guy who runs it is a big Bush supporter so he tends to add a lot of exclaimation points when Bush does well. I hate stupid punctuation. Kimmy Gibbler wouldn't let it go down like that.

Take it easy.
