I love when you write, because you know how to employ words to really carry out your point. Even if you're not satisfied with what you write, it still resonates with the reader ( ... )

Thank you for the mindful response.

I was 12 when they got married, but they had been friends since I was young, 8 or so. Things started to get serious between them when I was 10ish. He was definitely a father to me, but there is a strange dynamic between step-father and step-daughter. He couldn't inheritly run my life or tell me "no" like a real father could, and he respected that maybe more than he should have. So much of his influence revolved around playing the role of a father and helping me as best he could without breaking the barrier. But again, I was young, even young when he died, so I know that if he was still alive our relationship would have blossomed. The years he was in my life I was going through the tough teenage years and couldn't appreciate him the way I could now - also, he was suffering from cancer. That puts a strong hold on trivial every-day things.

But yeah. I have to re-read your response because it was really insiteful. Thanks.

I love how you write as well, Meg. You're by FAR one of the best writers in the world currently. That seems exaggerated, but it's not ( ... )
