Have no fear, Scipio, and what I am about to tell you, commit to memory.

Africanus appears to Scipio in a dream. Having withdrawn to heaven, they look down upon the world and the majesty of the Spheres, and the elder Africanus gives his mighty grandson advice. Unsurprisingly they talk about Carthage.

Yes, definitely. I will be getting into town around midafternoon on the 19th. I need to make time to see Gadarene and Galrion, but otherwise, I'm pretty flexible.

It's about an hour and 15 minute drive from here for me to get down to DC. It should probably be a morning-ish thing so that I can brave the traffic and still make it home for Matthew to get off of the school bus.

I'd offer an inspiring quote, but all I can offer at this hour and at this state of awakenessosity is U2 lyrics, so I'll spare you.

But good luck nonetheless, you bastard. :)

I do wish you the best of luck. I have many friends in the Foreign Service, and I know that you are as good or better than they are, and I have utmost faith that you will do well.

I worked in an independent bookstore for a year and a half. This is the primary source of my fairly prodigious book collection. (It would be MUCH worse if I were a pack rat, but I am not, so I get rid of things I don't really want to keep.) 40% discount = good. I liked it, but the pay was shit, and my boss was a psycho, so I had to seek other, more lucrative employment. Alas, alas.

Good luck with the oral exam. I am sure you will do excellently.
