You just sorta described this cabin that virtee's roommate Peter's family owned, on the Arroyo Seco river in northern CA. Except it had ameneties sort of, like electricity and a toilet that flushed, which to me was important. It was in the middle of nowhere and gorgeous. I miss that place...

That was actually one of the first ones I had looked at. $320 per week is not bad at all, and though it is a *little* too stocked, it my backup #1 if I cannot find anything sufficiently rustic.

Thanks. :)

Ha! Figures as much.

Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's not bad and the price is certainly right.

You pretty much described the lifestyle that we're aiming for. Just over on the other coast.

If you go to this site, http://www.iloveny.com/main.asp

you can select "Cabins/Cottages" from the Accommodations pull down menu, and do a search. Some of them seem quite amenity-free.

Perfect. You are my savior. Some of these run like $40 per night, too. I could be there for weeks.

I think that for something that un-equipped, you may be better off looking at trailers. Not double-wides, but like trailed Winnebagos. What the hell do you call those things? At any rate, that's what seasonal hunters tend to use. Maybe you can get one between seasons.
