101 in 1001: Master Post

This is my Master Post for 101 in 1001, put in a forwarded dated sticky post so that people can easily see it as the first thing in my journal. Also, since I'll be finishing up on 29 September 2011, I figured it was apporpriate. I'll update this post as things are accomplished instead of reposting my list every time

Hehe. There have been some changes that I haven't updated because I apparently fail like that. But I have graduated and am now in grad school (will it never end?!?). Also, the CJ thing kinda fell through because I would want to be on the street and that's an issue if your foot fails from time to time. Damn body. But that put me even more into IR so it totally worked out.

Have you considered the State Department? I'm planning to take the Foreign Service Officer Test after grad school and they're the place to go if you want to get experience with foreign governments and nations. INTERPOL also. There's plenty of CJ stuff there you could have a hand in, even if you can't be on the street, and it would combine your love of IR as well. I have the same interests so I've looked into this a lot.

I've considered it. I plan to go all the way through and get my doctorate, so I'd be waiting until at least then. Considering my area of specialty (the Balts and Scandinavia post-Soviet) is very...well, let's just say that by the time I'm done with school I will probably know everyone in my field. I figure I'll have enough time to soul search to see if I want to go straight into teaching and research or if I want to travel and be involved in various governments first. There's so much interesting stuff to do in the field that I have to stop myself from saying that I will do it all. ;)
