I haven't read that particular book, but I have another book by Jane Yolen, called The Devil's Arithmetic, which is also based in the Holocaust. It's a really good book as well.
I really want to read Briar Rose now, thanks for recommending it! :]

I haven't read Briar Rose, but Jane Yolen does good stuff. Her dragon books were quite good, especially the first one.

And "briar rose" was also the name of Snow White's sister, in the Grimm version. I adore fairy tales and myths and legends and fables. Great stuff.
