WOOT WOOT!  I got the RA position!  :D  I can be an RA in Ross next year should I choose to accept.  Ross is where I live now; it's the freshman dorm.  Rowdy, vandalism, alcohol...but it's where I'd be most effective.  I'd also save $10,000 in room and board.  My tuition would go from $38,000 to $28,000.  However, this may change my financial need ( Read more... )

Be an R.A.! I want to be but can't because you have to have 2 semesters of on-campus experience and I have none! I WILL LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR R.A.-NESS! :D

Hmmm... I've already said it, but I'll say it again here. I say go for the RA position. If you're feeling up to it, then it would definitely be a good experience and getting your own space rocks.

Perhaps talk to your friends about popping round to visit more? I think if you mention to them that you're a bit worried about being isolated, they'd understand and make more of an effort to come round. I don't think you would lose them. I've never had to share a room at uni, only kitchen space, but I know what you mean by things being lonely when you go back home. That having been said, I enjoy having my own space, else I can get quite fustrated.

Definitely be an RA. You oibvbvnjmhgvnb excuse me, accidentally got some ranch dressing on the keyboard and had to wipe it off. Ah hem.

ANY way, go for the RA position. You won't lose contact with your friends - not the ones worth keeping, anyway. And considering how easy it is to run up gigantic student loans, you'd be crazy to turn down the money. Plus it's solid job experience to put on a resume.

Another for RA....sounds like a meaningful position you can really do good with. ^_^ There's nothing like helping people.
