I actually decided today on a partial description of the academic femme: a grown woman who still makes a special effort to dress up for the first day of school. On that note, I also re-dyed my hair, tweezed my eyebrows, and gave myself a facial last night ... and read translation theory in the bubble bath. The femme ship has sailed, and I'm the first mate. *grin*

and I think I deserve some credit for the linguist boot camp title :-)
