Hey, I saw your post on the gender petition community. I'm the co-contact for the session on gendered and transgender language/discourse/subjectivity at the Lavender Linguistics conference at American University. Please consider submitting! I'd love to see this session bring in tons of responses and I'd also love to see a lot of people present! Here is the link: http://www.american.edu/academic.depts/cas/anthro/lavenderlanguages/sessions.cfm Let me know if you have any questions or would like more info! Thanks!

Elijah -

Thanks so much for your note! You'll have my proposal within the next three weeks, count on it. (I'm moving in a week, otherwise you'd have it sooner.)

Also, your icon is certifiably adorable. :c)

Fantastic! I look forward to viewing it! And, thank you, I promised my boyfriend I would pose with the stuffed animal he gave me:).

Hey there! I sent my proposal in a little while back, to wlm AT american. Should I expect a confirmation, or just hang tight until final decisions are announced? :c)

I was reading something you wrote in gender_petition but it wouldn't let me post so I'm posting here:

You may also want to look into languages which no not have gender-specific pronouns, like Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia -- it uses "dia" for both "him" or "her".)

Just something to look up, since you wrote your thesis I'm sure you've thought about it before! :D Very interesting topic!

Do you mind if I add you. As an ex-linguist, with bi-lingual tendancies in the French direction who also has a deaf American SO, (hence am now turning my attentions to asl aquisition), I find your blog quite interesting!
I saw your post in No Pity.
