Negation, "and," and "Get Fuzzy"

I hardly know whether to use my "language" icon or my "crazy dog lady" icon for this one, since my great love of Get Fuzzy stems from my great love of very silly dogs.  The strip in question here (from two days ago - hat tip to Barbara for pointing it out), though, only features Bucky Katt (and not Satchel Pooch), so "language" icon it is.

Because integer addition is an Abelian group and I'm pretty sure "getting married" and "having baby" are not part of any group?

I'm not even going to try to explain why 1 and 2 are different, I'd be flailing for paragraphs as I haven't learn how to talk about this sort of thing. Something to do with consecutive/concurrent? Last time I tried to do anything like this was when we were doing sentence trees in second year English language as an undergrad, and I got lots of strange looks for mentioning the "I've frequently not been on boats" thing. There was no Stoppard love in that group, it was shameful.

I was amused by your comment on angevin2's post about the Tilbury Address and decided to lurk a bit, any objections?
