I'm beginning to understand how scientists can allow themselves to publish flawed work, or to attach themselves to a theory without giving appropriate consideration to the evidence against it ( Read more... )

That seems to be real. A number of the steps mentioned give me, from outside the field, an impression of being fuzzy, or "fudged" but still it seems real. I looked up the name "T I A Fudge" in google, and only really found this article, so it seems that this person, since apparently real, is a junior researcher. And, what a name!, maybe unfortunate.

No no, the actual authors (Crispin Gardiner and the other guy, JR Anglin) made up the name TIA Fudge.
