I love Ireland, I love Dublin, and probably Galway as well,
even if I have never been there. This is because I love the Irish
My experience in Melbourne was a joint probably in Little Lonsdale St where every week there was folk-singing with a number of different artists, and there were no doubt paid artists, but if you felt like singing something yourself you probably just had to ask. No door charge. From this place, after closing time, I would many times walk away together with a group of irish youngsters who would sing various songs and play mouthorgans along the way. We walked through the whole city, after midnight until we came to probably St Kilda road where I might have taken my late night tram. Where they dropped off one by one or a few by a few, I don't know, but the atmosphere was tremendous. I love the Irish. Hearty people.
