I stopped reading Joshua Gans for a while. I'm not sure why. I'll be sure to start again now.

Oh well if you treat a going to the USA as a business venture, you should be able to be coldly logical and pragmatic about it, and simply go through the process as well as you can. As for me, If I were 20, and with the life experience that I have, I would migrate there straight away, i.e. without considering the whims of any other family. I would go there to become a self made man, and use my youth to win them all over and to take every advantage that people give a young person while taking every business opportunity I came across, and just start and work on BIG. And win and win and win. USA is where you can do it, with or without global warming. ... in fact, I would seriously consider California, where anti global warming business is happening now. USA is tops if you are young and decide to make your youth plus the economic opportunities work for you, by, of course, working on them.
