The reason I would prefer Fedex is because if after the first attempt and you are not home, they do attempt to deliver it again a couple more times. With Canada Post, if you aren't home, you have to go pick it up. Since I don't have a car, and depending on the size of the package, this can be difficult for me to do.
It depends on whether you opt for signature required - if you don't, most of the time Canada Post will leave it by your door, or in your community mailbox if you have one.
Of course with signature, it's that much more secure.
Huh, I have to say I have never had Canada Post leave a package for me except once in the Christmas season. I live in an apartment though, so maybe they don't leave it there? And this includes packages where I don't need to sign, so maybe it's just my bad area of town? :)
No, you're right, I was thinking of houses, not apartments. If they can't fit into your mailbox, they won't leave it in your lobby, usually.
They pretty much say on their site that it's a judgement call on the part of the carrier, whether to leave a parcel when there is no signature required.
Canada Post. I have a superbox - so my parcels are delivered almost 99% of the time without me having to go pick it up (it would have to be something huge to not fit in there). With FedEx they leave it with my neighbours (without me telling them they can mind you - fortunately my neighbour is also my super), or outside my door. If it needs a signature I have to drive all over creation to get to the FedEx store or get them to deliver to work, which takes like an extra day. So Canada Post is more secure and convenient for me.
I think it would depend. If it was something really expensive, I'd want the signature, but for my day to day purchases (ie cosmetics, perfume, books, clothing) tracking is good enough for me.
I'm using all available clear-headed time for more important tasks. I also don't believe it's your place to judge or insert yourself into my personal mental processes.
Again, I have not violated any rules. The OP can of course decide to exclude me, either privately or publicly, which is absolutely her choice.
I have done nothing to warrant a suspension by posting here, and suspending me prevents me from updating as I ship things out and from keeping people informed of the timeline. If you think I should be 'banned' from fairy posts - despite that not being part of any agreement between us that was ever stated - then obviously you can make up whatever rules you wish, even retroactively. However, it's not reasonable to punish me retroactively, nor does my participation in a fairy or sales thread (as a buyer only) impact my obligations to others.
