It is an agonising choice to make - from my experience (our beloved Thomas-cat was put to sleep 6 years ago this week) do ask that the vet who comes out is experienced in end of life care. It was the first time for the vet who came out to us, and it was not positive or fair on us, him or poor Thomas.
