At last - flowers!

It's been a long time coming, but finally, I have some flowers for you!  The garden wasn't looking so good for a while after a hot summer, then after the garden pruning it looked a bit bare.  We haven't had much rain, so everything's a few weeks behind its usual schedule.  With what rain we've received things have been happening.

So here we go...

It's nice to see your garden coming to life again, Maewyn. I love the wattle tree, so lovely. They don't grow here, of course, but I think they look like heaven. And everything else seems to be coming along. I hope you get the rain you need, soon. We could use some, too.

By next weekend the wattle tree will be covered in fragrant flowers. Strangely enough, I actually hope we don't have too much rain! I remember a couple of years ago the weight of waterlogged wattle flowers made the branches sag, some almost to the ground.

I know the seasons lag a bit where you are, so I was wondering if you are having summer yet?

Yes, it got warmer a few days ago, finally. Today it reached 84 (F), which, with our humidity, is hot for here. It's supposed to be in the 70's and 80's all this week. Yeah!

If the wattle branches sag too much do they break, or are they pretty resiliant?

84F = 28.9C. For me, that's lovely, warm weather. :) I hope you enjoy your warm days while they last!

The maximum temperature here on the 1st June (the first day of winter) was 26.2C! That is unusually warm for this time of the year. However, yesterday we had the coldest maximum for the year at 12.8C. Brrr! It's also been raining, for which we are really grateful. Nevertheless, it's rather miserable weather if you ask me!

I took this picture two years ago after we'd had a lot of rain. The branches were weighed down with water. Some brushed the ground, but none broke.

Thank you. I'd been meaning to post some flower pictures for a couple of weeks. I'm glad I did!
