A win!

Woo hoo!  I've won last week's competition in the snapshot_hunter community!   Just click on "ten", which was the subject for last week.  It's the first time I've won in this community.  It's not an easy task, as many members are very good photographers.  I think that I was lucky because there weren't many contestants this time round!

OH MY GOSH MAEWYN!! HOW EXCITING.... I'm so sorry, I haven't been keeping an eye on the community the last few months...I'm so bummed that I missed you winning. I just looked at your photo...THAT IS STUNNING! You deserved the win!!

Yay!!! It was amazing! At one stage they had set the comments to "screened" and I wondered why, as no one had been rude or anything like that. I queried it, and apparently it was because there had been so many comments for the photo that it almost filled the first page! They reversed it so that I could respond to the rest of the comments.

I've missed a few of the recent rounds, too. Sometimes I couldn't find a photo that matched the requirements, or it was too hard to set one up. I've just submitted this week's entry - "dozen" with a picture of 12 cherry tomatoes out of my garden!

Thank you! I took that photo just over a year ago. I didn't think it would get anywhere because the focal point was so high in the frame. Apparently I was wrong! :)

MAEWYN !!!

Congratulations ... This came up on my friends page as I often enter pics into this contest too, and I have to say that it is devilish difficult to get into their final round, never mind actually winning !! I have only ever been in the finals once...(and I enter enough to warrant me having a seperate file for competition entries at Photobucket to keep track of pictures I have already entered.)

Your picture is amazing, possibly because it's a sight that we don't often see with such clarity - the fact that they are green and such a great shape is a bonus too ! What fascinating little critters they are - all insects - I suspect that these may be some kind of butterfly or moth...

Anyway, well done !!

Thank you, Wendy! I've entered lots of times, and am usually thrilled to get 1-2 comments. It was wonderful making it into the finals!

It was difficult in the final round not being able to vote for myself to see what the poll results were. Luckily they posted the result at the end of that post!

maewyn_2 - 81 (72.3%)
thephoenixdies - 31 (27.7%)

I think the eggs may be from some kind of shield bug.
