I'm Melting!

It is just SO hot!!!

It's 10.30pm and the current temperature outside is 28.9 (84F) and inside the house it is 35C (95F)!

Yesterday's maximum temperature was 42.9C (109.2F), today's was 42.7C (108.8F).  Tomorrow's forecast is (depending on which site you check!) 37C or 39C (almost cool in comparison!).

"Please note that my "mood" below is "hot" in the literal sense!"

Ha ha! But I hope things cool off soon, Maewyn. Maybe Victoria and New South Wales can export some cool for you, although it's astonishing that it isn't hot there, too. It's the middle of summer! (for you)

We have strange weather here! The Eastern States have more mountainous areas than we do here, so that could be why they have different weather patterns to us.

All the same, some places over there have had some very hot weather recently too.

...you're right - I'm freezing over here! It went down to about 14 overnight, real cuddle-under-the-doona territory.

I hope you get some relief soon. We get southerlies...in Perth it's the Doctor, isn't it? Or something like that?

14! That's half of the minimum we had last night! It was 28.2! Luckily, I managed to sleep reasonably well, only waking up a couple of times through the night.

It got to 41 today. It's still 32. It's supposed to be 24 overnight. Sigh.

Oh, the Fremantle Doctor is very welcome when he does arrive!

I spent most of Sunday indoors - the air outside was like an oven. I'm sleeping with only one sheet and sometimes no pjs and it has to be pretty warm before I need to do that!

I took the thermometer outside on Sunday - it was 46 in the shade! I quickly high-tailed it back inside!

At night, I wear the skimpiest of nightwear and have the overhead fan on - I couldn't stand a sheet over me!

Snow in midsummer? :Q

That's too bad that you have to save on using the air conditioner when you need it most. Hope it cools down soon. *hugs*
(And feel free to send a couple of degrees warmth here... ;) )

Yes, it was in the areas that usually have snowfields and skiing in WINTER!

It's been cool today! Yay! Today's maximum didn't quite make it to 30C. Current outside temperature is 22C (10.00 pm). However, it's still too warm inside the house (30C). I've been trying to coax the cool air inside by opening windows and doors. Unfortunately the breeze slams the doors shut, and having only one door open doesn't circulate the air so well.

Sorry for complaining, but all this heat gets to you after a while! We'll have a reprieve for a couple of days of low 30's before it heats up to 38C on Saturday and Sunday...

I heard somewhere that we're having the hottest summer on record with an average maximum daily temperature of 32C. Couple that with the fact that we haven't had a drop of rain for two months...welcome to Perth!

Oh, I'd LOVE to send some heat your way. *starts fanning vigorously* Did you get that?! ;)
