did the first day of p90x, and boy am I sore. I didn't even have any of the accessories except a pair of dumbells, so i mostly just rested or did sit-ups during the pull-ups section. at about 2/3 of the way in, I was doing like 1-2 push-ups per set of push-ups. This is the first video? Ridiculous. I prolly shouldn't have done like 35-40 in the ( Read more... )

Productive weeks are fun. Since I started exercising regularly, I've felt like I've been kicking ass in productivity. Oh, and yesterday I bench pressed 185 again for the first time in like 10 years; woot!

This just confirms my hypothesis that Asians love p90x.

Personally, I'm too irritated by the name to give it a try. I'll stick to the gym. :-)

is that really a good reason to not try something? I think if I had weights at home, I would just do that instead. But then I'd get muscles, not help my heart, which is, I think, a better goal for me.

Because it's the latest fad and you find it irritating? Absolutely. :-)

Also because from the very little I know about it, it seems a little like pokemon or magic the gathering. First you buy $142 worth of DVDs and then you're gonna need to buy rubber bands, dumbbells, a mat, etc... which I'm sure they sell, too.

But anything that gets people interested in exercise and eating right is probably a good thing.

I don't buy that shit. I've got friends with DVD burners. =)

But I think a pull-up bar might be a good idea. I found one for ~$40 bucks. seems reasonable (not p90x affiliated, but like that matters).

If asian folk like it, then might that appeal to your inner asian guy? I did about 30min of the plyometrics stuff today. Lots of jumping around. Funny that John&Szu did the first, I dunno what -- 14 days of training in the first 2-3 weeks, and I've done 2 half-sessions in about a week. Oh well, exercise is exercise.
