I want to get my mail BEFORE dinner.

Lately, my mail has been arriving as late as 7 PM. Grar. I think I might have to complain to the post office. I know mail delivery time depends on where you are on the postal route, but sheesh, I want to get my mail BEFORE, not AFTER, supper ( Read more... )

Yes, I wonder. I have a regular mail carrier, who gets the mail to me on time - which is between 4 and 5 PM because my neighborhood is last on the route. I think we might have a substitute now, though.

I do all my financial stuff online (bills, deposits, etc.) so I'm not waiting for a check or getting a bill due tomorrow or anything like that - these days it's mostly catalogues and magazines. I do get the occasional urgent notice or fun package, though, and it IS nice to get the mail before dark!

Wow, that is late. I never look for mail after about 5pm, so if I received any later, it would have to spend the night outside in the box, which isn't terribly secure.

My post office has separate mail and parcel deliveries. The mail is fine, but if no-one's home, the parcel man just leaves the parcel on the front doorstep, in full view and easy access of the street. I've complained a couple of times, but it never seems to make a difference.

Wow, that's super late! I've gotten deliveries from UPS and FedEx as late as 6 pm, but the regular mail comes between noon and 12:30 like clockwork.

That's crazy! Also, FYI, be prepared for your mail carrier to chew you out if you complain. Both times I've complained (once all the mail for the whole street was in our box, once we kept getting mail that wasn't ours) the mail carrier has yelled at me for complaining. (No, I don't believe it was "kids messing around." Kids don't play with mail. Now do your job!!)

Ayup. Sometimes we get our mail at 11am here, and other times not until 6 or 7. And deliveries? They've come in as late as 8pm and after.

Yup, yup, yup.
