After spending the past two and a half weeks without my bank or credit cards, I decided I'd saved enough money to go on an online book spending spree. It helps that the Aussie dollar is still relatively strong in comparison the US of late, so even after high shipping costs I still wind up paying less than I would going into a bricks and mortar ( Read more... )

Yeah, I get the whole Syler-esque analysation thing happening as well. :) Everything from games to books to movies to music, I try to figure out how everything ticks so I can recreate it. It's a fascinating way to live, I don't understand the people that can just sit back and enjoy such luxuries as story without being in awe of the rest. (A good test for this is asking whether or not the person liked Children Of Men. The cinematography is a feast of amazing, although the story's a bit eh).

And if you ever want motivation, we should compare notes sometime. :)

That exchange rate is a blessing and a curse...

It is awesome when I need to purchase something that I actually need, and terrible when I see something to impulse buy, as I'm able to rationalise too easily.
