[ Hey Demeleier, it's been a while. From this guy anyway. When the video feed cuts on, he smiles for a while. He face is pretty scuffed up, but nothing too bad. A few cuts on his chin and a nasty crape on his cheek, a little too close to his eye. He doesn't seem to notice really, or care. He's on a mission anyway ( Read more... )

Baseball, huh..? No way, can't we play volleyball instead? It's the season for that, you know! Volleyball during summer-- we could even make it beach volleyball here!

[ Maybe she notices the wounds, but doesn't bring it up either way. ]

Volleyball's fun too! But I'm more of a baseball guy myself.

Maybe we can start a sports club and play 'em all!

Oh, I'm totally on the idea of a sports club! If you still need another team leader with skill, passion and nice hair, look no further!

[ he laughs though. Obviously not, but hey! ]

Baseball team? What kind of "sport" is that?

Well, baseball is the sport! A team is made up of a bunch of people who play baseball.

Boy, that is the most unhelpful explanation I've ever been forced to listen to! Can't you do any better than that?

Well, yeah. I'm just getting started here!

Baseball is a sport where you play on a field - a baseball field - and you have two teams with nine players each. Except you have more than that on each time, but there are only nine people at play per inning. ...And there are nine innings in each game where the teams switch off batting and fielding!

And if you're fielding, you guard the bases and pitch the ball at the batter, who has to hit the ball and run through all four bases to score a run! And who ever has the most runs after the ninth inning is wins the game.

Man, so many people don't know what baseball is!

To put it lightly, I guess, baseball is when you have two teams facing off against each other in a sports game where you have to hit a ball with a bat and score runs by running to bases.

[ This would be a lot easier if he were explaining it to people all at once... ]

You should come then. A bunch of people don't know how to play, and I'm all for teaching.

That's okay. You're not the only one.

Half the fun is in learning, right?

The other half is playing the game once you know how to do it!
