...were a real bitch. But, I think the story is fairly amusing for folks who weren't playing the starring role, so I'm going to lay it out for you

Being a graduate student without dental insurance I only now go to the dentist every year instead of twice a year (yeah I know, my parents put dental health way up at the top of "values I must impart to my child"). In any case, my parents were scared about this halving of my dental visits so they bought me a sonicator toothbrush. This thing is about $100 and the heads for it are ~$10-$14 depending on where you get them but it really makes your teeth feel oh so clean and slimy every freaking morning that you brush with it. AND the lady that cleaned my teeth last was completely surprised that I hadn't been in a year-- she was overjoyed that my teeth were so clean. Point: If you plan on spending another 10 years before going to the dentist again, you should buy a sonicator toothbrush before you go and maybe $100 will be worth decreasing the amount of time you have to spend in the chair. Oh, and congrats on your lack of cavities! Even though I've been to the dentist regularly, I still had a cavity last year that I had to have taken

Awww, Jen I'm sorry to hear that Word went ballistic on your document, that's really messed up. If your work permits it, I hear saving documents to an external device like a flash drive as well as the PC can sometime save you if you get an internal saving error. Unless it's something with the documents format, that's pretty odd.
Yea they sure can be ruff, this one lady I use to get at my dentist would always, ALWAYS, miss and scrape my gums, and she would scrape my teeth soooo hard, and she wouldn't say a word and I couldn't say a word... She would also push down very hard with the scrape when checking for cavities, ugh...But the new lady is way better!!!
Dental hygienists are evil! EVIL! Never let them trick you into thinking otherwise! I made the mistake of telling one that I didn't floss. I'm still convinced that the ensuing torture was some sort of weird form of dental revenge. My gums were sore for days. Some people might argue that, were my teeth properly flossed, I wouldn't have suffered any pain, but I know the truth. And, I'm with you. THEY'RE ALL SADISTS.
I'm glad your stressful day is more or less over. :)
